Encounter Checklist - Prismatic Wasteland
A great set of seven principles to consider when designing encounters in your game. You don't need to nail all of them, but capitalizing on a few can ensure your encounters stay memorable.
The D&D Build that Wins ANY Game - Deficient Master
Don't scroll away! The title is a trick!
This video is here for you to send immediately to your problem players. The title is meant to draw them in, make them think they are about to discover the secret to "winning" D&D...The thing is, they will learn how to win D&D, but not the way they were expecting!
Toybox Style Play - LOTFP
This sort of perspective on play is just as important for players to understand as it is for DMs. Everything introduced in your game world should be played with, experimented upon, and used to acquire characters' goals. The rusty cannon on the parapet should be fired, the crane suspended over the mine should be swung upon, the acid in the pool should be bottled and thrown. Stop looking at your character sheet and play the world that is presented to you. That means, DMs, give the players toys to play with! the game world becomes real and more dynamic.
I hope these resources inspire you! If you haven't already, the best way to stay up to date with everything hothead-related is to join the discord. See you next week!
